BMAC: BLOCKCHAIN-BASED MEDIA FILE ACCESS FOR HEALTHCARE CLOUDS

  • Mythili R et al.

Abstract

Presently, healthcare cloud storage is rising exponentially with the media files like X-rays, MRI
scan reports. Healthcare providers require the patient privacy as the most prevailing need. Most of
the existing cloud storage uses the popular Attribute-Based Encryption (ABE) for secure medical data
sharing of text. ABE is implemented for achieving privacy and fine-grained access control. Even then,
serious issues like private/sensitive data leakage, key abuse, single point of failure, increased
computational/storage expenses are continuing in practice. The proposed BMAC system finds the
right solution by using Blockchain as decentralized storage and user roles as the attributes for
avoiding private data leakage of media files. The BMAC system shows the efficient performance for
the sample PHR media of jpg and wmv files.
