An Intelligent Real Time Monitoring of Coal Conveyor System

Abstract

Thermal plants are vital sources of electricity in a developing country like India. Coal conveyors are
indispensible components of any thermal power plant and the efficiency of the plant mainly depends
on the speed at which the coal is taken to the crushing units in the plant. There are many factors
which disturb the well-being of the conveyor belts; one is heating and the other factor is tearing of the
belt. In this paper we disclose our intelligent real time system for monitoring the temperature and
attrition of the conveyor belt using sensors controlled by Arduino Uno Processor to over these
challenges in successful operation of the thermal plant.
