PPAS: PRIVACY PRESERVING AUTHENTICATION SCHEME FOR VEHICULAR AD-HOC NETWORK

Abstract

In vehicularad-hoc networks VANET,conditional privacy preserving authentication scheme is widely used
to solve security and privacy issues.Existing conditional privacy preserving authentication scheme usually
require ideal Tamper proof device(TPD) on vehicles which however might be infeasible or donot exist in
reality due to high security requirement. To address this problem we propose a practical framework of
privacy preserving authentication scheme for vehicular ad-hoc network that supports more realistic TPDs
which are more secure in finding the malicious vehicle during the data/information transmission moreover
performance analysis shows that our work has better efficiency in authentication all these features make
our work practical for VANET
