Abstract

Steel corrosion in reinforced concrete structures can lead to cracking of concrete cover when corrosion products expand. Corrosion of steel reinforcement is a serious problem for durability and serviceability of reinforced concrete. This paper also imparts a experimental study on the causes and factors responsible for corrosion. This study employs all necessary of experimental study on the concrete degradation .The main objective of this research is to propose a practical methodology for evaluating the performance of RC buildings with corrosion-damaged members. We extrapolate a structural performance of corroded steel in concrete and studied the number of properties, including hardness, toughness, tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, the Brinell hardness test performed on corroded steel bars , Tension test is performed on mild steel, tor steel and high tensile steel to determine the properties like Young's modulus, ultimate strength, and the percentage elongation. In the tension test, a steel rod is subjected to tension load by the means of a Universal testing machine(UTM).and finding the compressive strength of Concrete specimens of age  new sample,3 years,5 years,7 years ,10 years old concrete.
