Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess effectiveness of protocol for care of parturient (2nd to 4th stages) in terms of knowledge and practices among trained midwives

Objectives:

  1. To assess the knowledge regarding care of parturient among trained midwives.
  2.  To assess the practices regarding care of parturient among trained midwives.
  3. To find out the co- relation between pre-test knowledge and pre-test practice scores regarding care of parturient among trained midwives.
  1. To find out the association between pretest knowledge scores regarding care of parturient and selected demographic variables among trained midwives.
  2. To find out the association between pretest practice scores regarding care of parturient and selected demographic variables among trained midwives.
  3. To find out the effectiveness of protocol for care of parturient regarding knowledge of trained midwives.
  4. To find out the effectiveness of protocol for care of parturient regarding practices of trained midwives.

Methods:

Methods: The current study's conceptual framework is based on the Kings Goal Attainment Model. The study takes an evaluative approach, with a one-group pre-test, post-test, and pre-experimental design. The study involved 30 certified midwives who were asked to complete a structured knowledge questionnaire and a check list.
