Abstract

Bayesian networks are a form of data analysis. A Bayesian network gives data structure by modelling it with a graphical framework. Following that, it creates probability distributions for these variables. It investigates variables in the problem space and the probability distributions associated with them. It uses statistical inference to derive mean values from certain probability distributions. They are good means to explore a large set of data efficiently to make inferences. There are a number of real world applications that already exist and are being actively researched. This paper discusses the theory and applications of Bayesian networks.
