Abstract

Network technologies have revolutionized the world of Communications. Communication is now faster and efficient than ever before. Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANET) has been popular for many applications due to their dynamic nature. Routing protocols in the Ad-Hoc networks play an important role in determining the throughput and efficiency of the communication. There are many challenges to be addressed by the routing protocols because they need to consider throughput, power consumption, and route resilience before transmitting the data packets from the sender to the receiver. Ad-Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol is popular in the field of research. This paper presents a simulation of the new configuration of the default AODV protocol. The simulation was executed on the OMNeT++ tool with both default and enhanced simulation. The result of the route resilience has been discussed in comparison with the default network and protocol. The research contributes to the ongoing research in the field of AODV and routing protocols. The study is limited by the number of nodes and real-time configuration of popular applications.
