Approach in Language Meaning Analysis: A Review of Perspectives

Abstract

This article is related to the many approaches used by experts in interpreting the meaning of language, therefore the content in this paper is a review of some of the approaches used by linguists. The approach used in writing this article is the study of literature, namely the data obtained from books, journals related to problems, analytical techniques used is comparative. The results showed that some of the methods that have been used by experts in studying the meaning are structuralism, hermeneutic, pragmatism, behaviorism and semiotic methods. These methods often seem to override other aspects of language when looking at meaning, structuralism rule out aspects outside of language and behaviorists tend to ignore aspects of meaning from within the language, for that there needs to be a combine of several approaches in finding meaning as a whole.
