Systematic Growth in Digital Image Forensic: A Study of Practical Tools for Investigation Based on Features

Abstract

Nowdays, there does not exists any platform where Digital Images are not used. The reliable source of evidence in investigation has been always Images as per consideration. Before trusting digital image we need to investigate the origin and the integrity of a digital image due to availability of wide range of photo editing software. Several algorithms have been developed for image integrity verification and authentication but to exploit these algorithms and reaching to the final decision based on their output is still lacking. In this survey paper we have studied different image forensic tools to bridge the gap. In order to help the analyst in reaching a final assessment, various techniques has been suggested through which analyst can come the final conclusion.
