The Rising Network Economy During Covid-19 Process
Abstract
During the Covid-19 pandemic in the world, although the human price paid is the most important loss encountered, support arrangements have been initiated in order to minimize the possible damages to be encountered in the sectors whose activities are stopped economically under global quarantine conditions. Developments in the digital sector, which is the sector where the most various effects of Covid-19 are observed has been due to the lack of an alternative to the use of digital technology to carry out activities restricted by the pandemic. As a result of the maximum increase in digital usage as the only solution for meeting business, education, shopping and all other needs, some improvements were required in information network capacity, in some countries. The purpose of this study is to analyze the situation on issues that require planning of new network structuring. In this regard, data regarding internet usage, e-commerce, on-line shopping, communication and broadband network needs are used. Data has been obtained from The World Bank (WB), United Nations (UN), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Turkey's National Statistical Institute (TUIK) statistics. In this study, digital usage opportunities that vary according to the development differences of countries are examined and the effects on the global digital economy are studied.
