Visualization and Exploration of Software Code Clone Detection using Software Metrics

Abstract

Visualization helps users to analyze the evolution of clones from a crude level to a substantial level. The objective of this paper is to ease the clone detection in software versions by using various visualization techniques. The cloning of software coding is identified by taking the metricsbased software clone detection approach. Visualization of clones is performed using two case studies where cloning has been detected across their versions using metrics support. The metrics
support provided to the various categories helps in detecting the visualized clones. The evolution of clones can be seen with the visualized graphs. Comparing these metrics provides a basis for determining and differentiating clones more efficiently
