Abstract

 

1The 15G 1network 1is 1a 1next-generation 1wireless 1form 1of 1communication 1and 1the 1latest 1mobile 1technology. 1In 1practice, 15G 1utilizes 1the 1Internet 1of 1Things 1(IoT) 1to 1work 1in 1high-traffic 1networks 1with 1multiple 1nodes/sensors 1in 1an 1attempt 1to 1transmit 1their 1packets 1to 1a 1destination 1simultaneously, 1which 1is 1a 1characteristic 1of 1IoT 1applications. 1Due 1to 1this, 15G 1offers 1vast 1bandwidth, 1low 1delay, 1and 1extremely 1high 1data 1transfer 1speed. 1Thus, 15G 1presents 1opportunities 1and 1motivations 1for 1utilizing 1next-generation 1protocols, 1especially 1the 1stream 1control 1transmission 1protocol 1(SCTP). 1However, 1the 1congestion 1control 1mechanisms 1of 1the 1conventional 1SCTP 1negatively 1influence 1overall 1performance. 1Moreover, 1existing 1mechanisms 1contribute 1to 1reduce 15G 1and 1IoT 1performance. 1This 1paper 1provides 1an 1inclusive 1and 1comprehensive 1analysis 1of 1recent 1developmental 1endeavors 1toward 15G. 1It 1highlights 1salient 1features, 1i.e., 1flexibility, 1accessibility, 1and 1cloud-based 1service 1offerings, 1those 1are 1going 1to 1ensure 1the 1futuristic 1mobile 1communication 1technology 1as 1the 1dominant 1protocol 1for 1global 1communication.
