People are being judged by not just how smart they are but also by how well they handle each other and themselves. The essential premise of Emotional Quotient (EQ) is that each and every action of human being is systematically controlled by emotions. In order to be successful, effective awareness, control and management of one’s own emotions and those of other people are required. If Intelligent Quotient (IQ) stars from head, EQ starts from heart. Hence, the publication of the bestselling book Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goalman (1995), the topic of Emotional Intelligence has witnessed unparalleled interest. Elementally schools and Universities have implemented courses on developing one’s Emotional Intelligence in numerous settings. Women of the early centuries were mostly confined to their kitchens and those who were employed worked in factories, farms or shop works. Very few women had the asses to higher education. In general, EI balance as a major challenge to women entrepreneurs has been named, but has not been thoroughly discussed. Inspired by special interest in EI balance of women entrepreneurs and the desire to contribute to the understanding awareness on this issue, as well as to inspire broader and deeper studies in researcher’s home place, the researcher investigated on the EI balance issue as a challenge to women who own and manage small and medium-sized enterprises.
