Salivary gland is the most common site of all the head and neck swellings. The salivary gland lesions are commonly seen in the age group of 40-60 years. Pleomorphic adenoma followed by warthin’s tumor are the most common benign salivary gland lesions. Mucoepidermoid carcinoma is the most common salivary gland lesion. Sialadenitis is the most common non neoplastic lesion of the salivary gland. Fine needle aspiration cytology is the initial diagnostic tool in salivary gland lesions. It avoids the unrequired surgical interventions in salivary gland lesions. Diagnostic accuracy of FNAC ranges from 85%-98%.
