Financial Performance Evaluation of the commercial banks in Jordan: Based on the CAMELS Framework.

Abstract

This study aimed at analyzing and evaluating the financial performance of the Jordanian banks. To achieve the objective of the study, the CAMELS framework was used to analyze and evaluate the financial performance of banks. The study sample consisted of 13 commercial banks for the period 2014-2018. The study concluded that the overall Jordanian commercial banks was the degree of classifying them based on CAMELS framework which was acceptable and that the Jordanian commercial banks have a convergence in the rating, which is an indication of the convergence of the procedures and policies adopted in the Jordanian commercial banks.
