Abstract

This project presents a methodology with identifying data about the lane in different weather and illumination conditions. Earlier works could just recognize road edges/lanes in good weather on smooth roads. In this investigation, a computer vision framework is used consisting a total of 03 cameras, 02 cameras are on the right-side and left-side mirror, the left-side camera is being put on the front screen of the vehicle. The pictures which are taken through the mounted cameras on the vehicle are utilized to identify the lanes. For lane recognition, a road edge recognition algorithm is utilized which can detect straight as well as curved edges efficiently. In the proposed framework, the road edge recognition algorithm can be separated into two phases. The primary stage is to process the picture dependent on its gray value. In the subsequent stage, the calculation is to perceive the road edge and to acknowledge road edge following.
