Abstract

In this paper the problems associated with the accumulation of snow and the formation of ice on the roofs of residential buildings are discussed. The mechanisms of ice and icicles formation, methods and devices for combating snow on the roofs of houses and icicles along the edges of the roofs are considered. The effect of ice formation on the lifetime of the roof. A generalization of the results is carried out.
