DEVELOPMENT OF ALERTING AND MONITORING SYSTEM FOR MANHOLE MANAGEMENT USING IOT

Abstract

     The good maintenance of manhole is a sign of good and cleaner cities. Nowadays the major issue in cities is manhole management. The probability of rate of accidents on roads is increasing gradually due to improper and damaged manholes; this leads to heavy risk for the individual safety. The current manhole management is a complete failure in monitoring the manhole and alerting the people about opened lid of manhole, explosion of gases and water overflow from manhole. The implementation of accident evades system that predicts harmful gases and overflow of water from man-hole. The sensors like infrared, ultrasonic, gas sensor are used to detect the breakage of manhole lid, poisonous gases and water overflow. The particulars of the manhole failure will be transmitted to the authority of the corporation department. The control and the alimentation are handled with the help of Internet of Things.
