The Profile of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) Instructional Strategy in Primary School
Abstract
The main purpose of the research is describing the higher order thinking skills instructional process in one of primary school. It is qualitative research that involves a primary school teacher in Bandung, Indonesia. Questionnaires, observation sheet, and interviews were employed as instruments to capture the instructional profile of HOTS. The data were analyzed by using Miles & Huberman framework. They were reduced, displayed, and concluded then they were triangulated to describe the implementation of the overall instructional process validly. The results show that government socialized HOTS has been known by teacher but he has been able to design and to implement the innovative instructional models in promoting HOTS to the students. These findings indicate that teachers need deeper knowledge in order to design and to implement the appropriate instructional strategies in promoting HOTS to the students.
