The Effectiveness of an Ecological Intelligence-based Indonesian Textbook towards Written Expression Competency with the Insight of Environment Preservation
Abstract
The present study seeks to test the effectiveness of an ecological intelligence-based Indonesia language textbook towards the written expression competency with the insight of environmental preservation. The population includes Grade VII students of junior high schools in Surakarta. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling. Data were collected using composition test, assigning students to write a composition involving the insight of environmental preservation. The instrument of the study was validated with construct validity. The data were analyzed using t-test with a significance level of 5%. In reference to the analysis results, it follows that an ecological intelligence-based Indonesian language textbook significantly influences the students’ writing competency.
