TECHNIQUE ON MALAY TEXT SUMMARIZATION: A REVIEW

Abstract

The vast volume of information is rapidly growing every day and has shown to lead to information overload, hence ultimately affect decision making and complicate the retrieval of information.In recent years, substantial research has been conducted to develop text summarization technique. It is a key task to solve overload information, which has been extensively used to make a summary of text in variety of languages such as English, Indonesian, Arabic and Spanish.However, a comprehensive review on Malay text summarization technique is still lacking due to limited number of resources and supportive tools available. Thus, the objective of this study is to comprehensively review the current works performed in Malay text summarization. To achieve the objective, a systematic literature review has been implemented. This paper discusses the rigorous systematic literature review process on 13selected articles from year 2011 to 2019. The analysis reveals that, most of published studies are using statistical method of extractive text summarization. The finding acts as interrogative suggestion to other researcher to conduct futureresearch on Malay text summarization.
