Abstract

This study empirically investigates the nature of the relationship between leave policies and employees job satisfaction in the telecom sector of Nigeria. The descriptive survey design was adopted with a population of 365 telecom staff drawn from 4 major telecom operators(MTN, GLO, AIRTEL & 9MOBILE) in Nigeria which were purposively selected from the two states (Enugu and Anambra) in the South East, Nigeria. A sample size of 248 was drawn and a closed-ended structured questionnaire was the instrument used to collect data from the respondents.  Results showed a positive relationship direction between leave policies and employees job satisfaction in telecom sector of Nigeria. Informed by this finding, the study recommends that telecom firms should consciously design and fashion out an effective leave system that will create a change of environment and impacts positively on employees’ psychosocial well-being in order to keep the morale of employees high.
