Anomalous Payload based Intrusion Detection in Cloud

  • Baldev Singh

Abstract

Cloud computing enables the state-of-the-art computing infrastructures for its pay basis usage services. It undergoes various security and privacy issues and threats due to its multi-user access and network basis services. There is expansion in attack surface created by malicious users that require detection of anomalies and attacks for the security and protection purpose. Various researchers proposed anomaly and intrusion detection systems to monitor the malicious activities and attacks over the cloud infrastructure. These proposal and anomaly detection models are categorized into two segments which are known as signature based and anomaly based detection systems. In this survey paper, anomalous payload based anomaly detection mechanisms are discussed irrespective of signature or anomaly.
