Abstract

The proposed method implemented an efficient and novel method of haze removal from the color images. Fog is generated because of the scattering effect, attenuation as well as airlight. Also there is contrast reduction in haze images which is present due to attenuation in the image , also the whitness in image increases due to airlight. In proposed algorithm we used DWT and DCT follwed by bilateral filter.DWT works in frequenncy domain analysis whereas bilateral filter works for spatial domain. The proposed method is specifically designed to remove the whiteness and recover the contrast of given haze image. Subjective and objective analysis can show the efficiency of the proposed method over all the state of art techniques. Advantage of the proposed algorithm is, there is no need of any information regarding density and no intervention of user is required. There are multiple applications for proposed methodology such as industry entertainment, consumer electronics also in track and navigation purpose.
