The also covers the problems of cooperatives in providing support and contribution supporting contributing to creative economy in Indonesia. This is a normative-empirical applied law research with a socio-legal approach. The data were collected through depth interviews and literature reviews. The data were then analyzed with legal norm and critical hermeneutics methods, with interactive analysis models. The findings show that cooperatives play strategic roles in the Indonesian creative economy as institutional forms of creative enterprises, a source of capital for creative economy agents, as well as an opportunity to develop a creative society. However, from a regulatory perspective, the Indonesian Cooperative Law and Creative Economy Law have not accommodated cooperatives as a part of the creative economy system. This makes cooperatives unable to efficiently support the growth of Indonesian creative industry. Therefore, Indonesia needs regulations and policies that can strengthen the role of cooperatives to support creative industries.
