Web Mining Trends, Techniques, Tools and Algorithms

Abstract

   Web mining is one of the most successful and commonly used collaborative technique in which Web content, web usage and web structure data collaborate together in varying level of relationships to extract knowledge from web also termed as information mining. It provides services to web users to gain knowledge from huge data. We provide a rigorous study of the relevant literature in the field of web mining.  Comparative analysis of web mining and data mining shows that how data mining techniques are useful in web mining. Paper discusses how Web mining applications face various challenges during mining. The classification of web mining techniques, tools and algorithms used for information extraction have been discussed in detail.  Web mining is also useful in prioritizing the web pages [17, 18, 21]. At the end, many available tools and techniques for web mining have been summarized.
