CSRR INTEGRATED RECONFIGURABLE MIMO ANTENNA FOR ISOLATION ENCHANCEMENT

Abstract

The reconfigurability of an antenna can be achieved by placing a diode in the antenna. In this paper, a PIN diode is used for the reconfigurability of an antenna. Vertical patch antenna and Horizontal patch antenna are designed using FR4 substrate of the dielectric constant of 4.4, the complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR), the PIN diode are also designed on the FR4 substrate and CSRR unit structure is integrated with PIN Diode. CSRR PIN diode vertical antenna has a good gain of 9.24dB when the condition is 111011. The average Envelope correlation coefficient for both designed antennas is less than 0.3. The proposed antenna design for all ten conditions of PIN Diode radiates in omnidirectional which can be seen from radiation plots. From VSWR plots, the CSRR PIN diode vertical antenna suitable for medical applications, industrial applications, broadcasting satellite services and the CSRR PIN diode horizontal antenna suitable for medical applications, industrial applications, terrestrial applications.
