Abstract

An individual’s handwriting is considered ubiquitous, personal and results of their actions implemented over any document with the help of instruments. Handwriting is always influenced by numerous intrinsic and extrinsic factors such as physiology, health, education and other behavioral factors. Handwriting of an individual is a proficiency and complex task that develop with latency time. By this time, we follow a perception in handwriting that no two individuals, even monozygotic twins can write exactly similar. To determine the similarity between two twins and effect of gender, this study was conducted to throw some light on handwriting. In this pilot study, 20 pairs of twins including identical and non-identical from a age group of 15-25 years hand writings were examined for minute details of handwriting characteristics along with the implementation of metric system.  As a resultant of this study, it was observed that two identical and non-identical twins have 22.15% to 91.2% similarity. The variation in handwriting occurs because of inherited characteristics, new surroundings, twin-ship starts separating and their habits, lifestyle, every change influence their writing also.
