Achievement Motivation of Students: A Study of Punjab

Abstract

Achievement motivation guides how students are going to think about their studies, what are his expectations from the study and what is his purpose of studying the course. The level of motivation differs between gender. The present study has been carried out in Punjab to study how Achievement Motivation affects the students’ motivation level. A sample of 100 students is taken including 50 males and 50 females. A well-defined questionnaire was designed based on Achievement, Power and Affiliation factors. The results have shown that females are more anxious as compared to males w.r.t. Achievement Motivation.
