A Study on Awareness of Postal Schemes and Doorstep Postal Banking with special reference to Kerala

Abstract

 The postal services can be dated back to  255  years  operating  nationwide  through  post offices.  This has huge access to network of people across the nation which even major banks could dream of. Post offices are present in the nook and corner of the country minimizing the rural urban gap bringing in development to the people in the regions where it functions and is successful in helping people inculcate the habit of small savings. The Doorstep postal banking brings banking  at  the  very doorstep through smart postmen  with  biometric authentication so that the services of the  government reach the rural and urban alike. The present study is to know how successful doorstep postal banking would be in Kerala and the awareness of Postal schemes among public. The study is based on responses from 60 respondents hailing from different parts of Kerala and SPSS Chi -square was used for testing hypothesis.
