Power Quality Enhancement in Distribution Systems using LOA Involves IUPQC

Abstract

In a power distribution system some non-linear loads are connected on the distribution side, which causesPQ issues like voltage sag, swell, flicker, distortion, harmonic currents and voltage variations.In this paper developed theIUPQC for improving the PQ issues with the help of a LOA.The main objective of the proposed system is to compensate for the voltage/current based on the reference current/voltages with PAC controller. The important of LOA is utilized to maintain the DC-link voltage of the IUPQC device by maintaining constant voltage magnitude at a sensitive load is connected place under system disturbances. The effectiveness of the proposed system is implemented in MATLAB/Simulink platform and evaluates their performance and compared with some different algorithms like Bull Optimization Algorithm (BOA) and Bat algorithm (BA). Based on this control strategy the PQ issues are compensated in linear and non-linear load connected distribution systems.
