Abstract

Faults diagnosis of the electrical machine is considered by researchers and engineers as the be the most sensitive part and the most challenging. On-line Monitoring of single-phase induction motors (SIM) is a rapidly emerging technology for the detection of incipient faults. Bearing and Armature faults currents of SIMs are measured under different load conditions. The objective is to investigate the effect of bearing and armature faults on how the single-phase induction motor performs. The results are compared with those faults using the conventional tests (no-load and full load current). The same single induction motors under the same operating conditions when the test data were collected. A deep demonstration of the experimental results is also provided to assist understand the mechanisms of bearing and armature faults. Several experimental outcomes are provided to confirm the efficiency of bearing and armature faults in SIM. Spectral and power analyses reveal the difference in total harmonic distortion.
