Big Data Mining: Current Status and Future Prospects

Abstract

Big Data is no more a buzz now. It is a wave every data scientist wants to ride. With the arrival of digital era and miniaturization of digital devices, data that is generating daily is in order of terabytes.This huge growth in data and the value it can generate for business and other fields like medical or education by mining various insights, is attracting the researchers from other domains as well. This data is high in variety and speed. Therefore, the conventional methods of data mining are not sufficient to mine this big data. In this paper, a brief introduction of big datais presented. Then, different challenges for mining have been discussed from the perception of big data along with various open issues and possible trends for future research.
