Objective-To find the effect of self-instructed module among patients undergoing dialysis and to determine the association between knowledge and selected demographic variables. Methods: study was done with one group Pre-test, post-test experimental design among 55 patients undergoing hemodialysis, who were selected by Non Probability Purposive Sampling technique. Data collection was done using structured knowledge questionnaire and analysed using spss 20.Result: majority 29 had average knowledge. In post-test 25 had good knowledge and 29 had average knowledge and only 1 had poor knowledge. The mean post-test knowledge score 13.83(SD=2.781) of patients undergoing hemodialysis was significantly higher than their pre-test knowledge score 17.60 (SD=2.249). The calculated‎ paired‎ „t‟‎ value‎ 13.563‎ is‎ greater‎ than table value (t=1.011) at 0.05. there was statistically no significant association between knowledge score with the socio demographic variables. Conclusion: this study findings indicates that SIM is effective in improving the knowledge of patients undergoing hemodialysis and actual gain on conducting this study was better outome in the wellbeign of the patient
