THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SKILL TRAINING PROGRAM ON SELF ESTEEM AND SELF EFFICACY OF STUDENTS

Abstract: This study is pursued to find the effectiveness of a psychological skills training (PST) designed to enhance the self-esteem and self-efficacy of school students (N = 40), aged ranged 12-14 years. PST program was administered for 6 months, 1 session a week 4 sessions a month of 30-40 min and total number of 24 sessions for each student. Pre and Post training data was collected by using mental skill questionnaire (hardy and nelson, 1996), Self-esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965) and Self Efficacy Scale (Schwarzer & Jerusalem, 1995). Statistically analyzed by employing paired t-test at the significance level of 0.05. The obtained result indicated that students have improved their self-esteem and self efficacy after undergoing the structured Psychological Skill Training (PST) program.
