Abstract

AbstractThis paper discuss about high power three port bidirectional DC – DC converter (TPBC) based on full bridge and interleaved boost converter. This paper also discusses about the characteristics and control structure. The control structures that are used are pulse width modulation and phase shift control for photovoltaic-storage hybrid systems. The FB – TPBC consists of one input port, one bidirectional port and one isolated bidirectional output port. The operation principles of the proposed converter are analyzed in this paper. The phase shift between the primary side and the secondary side switching and duty cycle of the input bridge switches are controlled in order to manage power between threeports. This control scheme is called PWM + SSPS.Both input and output bridges reach zero voltage switching (ZVS) because of the control scheme. This also helps in increasing the power density and efficiency and also gives higher reliability and improved dynamic performance. The proposed converter is simulated and tested in MATLAB under various scenarios.
