Impact of Blended Learning on Teaching Competency among M.Ed Trainees

Abstract

        This study aims to investigate the Blended learning to enhancing teaching competency of M.Ed trainees. The study sample consists of 42 M.Ed students from two college of education in karaikudi. Experimental design was adopted by the researcher, there are two groups one is control group and another is experimental group. Blended Learning is independent variable and teaching competency is dependent variable of the study. Treatment period is two weeks only, Experimental group treated with blended learning mode of instruction and control group instructions are given through conventional methods. Statistical analysis such as mean, standard deviation and effect size analysis were used with SPSS package. The result of the study showed that there is significant difference in the mean of pre test and post test teaching competency of experimental group M.Ed trainees, the effect size score is 3.72 which show positive effect of blended learning on teaching competency. This implies that performance of M.Ed trainees was enhanced when they are exposed to blended learning mode of instructions..
