A SURVEY ON PREDICTION OF MARINE OIL SPILL TRAJECTORY
Abstract
Marine Oil spill is one of the most common types of environmental disaster which usually occurs due to the release of crude oil from tanker ships, offshore platform and drilling mines into the sea or ocean. It would be helpful if we could predict the range of the oil spill beforehand so that necessary remedial measures can be taken accordingly to minimize the extent of damage in the marine environment. Different methodologies offering various solutions are studied and analyzed. The accuracy of these approaches is compared and the current state of research for trajectory prediction is considered.
