Abstract

Abstract: This paper aims for torque ripple minimization and speed control of a Brushless DC (BLDC) motor drive system using optimization algorithms such as Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) and JAYA for tuning Proportional-Integral (PI) controller. The proposed scheme is implemented using a Simulink model of the entire drive system which includes 3-phase voltage source inverter based on hysteresis current controller, speed controller (PI), motor and the load. The simulation results are observed for conventional PI controller and PI tuning with PSO as well as Jaya algorithms.
