Abstract

Educational Data Mining (EDM) is a discipline concerned with developing strategies for studying information that come from educational environments. The main aim of this discipline is to determine the factors that affect students and their education quality. To this end, educational data including students' personal, social, physical, academic, and health data, should be explored. In the following report, failure risk for undergraduate students has been studied. We have analyzed the data to determine the obstacles slowing the students' education process down and to identify the positive learning methods which, may lead to better outcomes. This paper has reviewed the studies within the field of EDM, which have gone through the problem to point out the current state of the subject in hand and set a step beyond to study the results, applications, instruments, and future educational possibilities.
