Abstract

Hypertension, more commonly known as high blood pressure, is a very common and serious condition affecting over a third of the Indian population with more than 10 million new cases each year. Hypertension arises when the pressure exerted by blood on the walls of blood vessels excess the normal value of (120 over 80) mm Hg. Hypertension is a chronic, lifelong condition that can often lead to serious complications like stroke, heart failure, coronary artery disease and chronic kidney disease. In this paper, we have tried to correlate the effects of common hypertensive medications available in India with their effects on haemoglobin levels in patients.
