Abstract

Nowadays, information-hiding techniques are vital and substantial for many application areas. Many techniques are used to achieve texts inimageshiding, andthe images must be subject to a number of different technical functioning of which image segmentation is a basic process in image processing. In this paper, we propose a new method for text in image hidingbyintegrating many techniques to achieve a high degree of secure hiding. The proposed method is based on the Otsu thresholding technique for image segmentation and the convolution technique before the final step which usesthesteganography technique to hide the plain text. There are various techniques that have been used in steganography for hiding the data in the cover media. These techniques aimed to make it difficult to detect the hidden information inside a cover media. Spatial domain steganography technique refers to methods in which data hiding is performed directly on the pixel value of a cover image in such a way that the effect of the message is not visible on the cover image.LSB coding is one of the techniques of spatial domain methods which is simple but susceptible to lose compression and image manipulations. Finally we have calculated the MSE (Mean Square Error), PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio), Image Fidelity (IF), and Universal Image Quality Index (UIQI) values of the stego image and the results show the robustness of our new method.
