Abstract

PhotoVoltaic (PV) module is an important source of energy, it utilizes sunlight to generate electricity. PV system usually have a lower efficiency to improve the efficiency the Maximum Power Point Tracking(MPPT) were needed. MPPT works based on the Temperature and irrandiance available from the sun. In the proposed system, Model Predictive Control Technique(MPC) is employed for tracking the maximum power point. In oredr to, boost the output voltage of the PV module, the choppers were used. Here, Soft-Switched Interleaved Boost(SSIB) chopper is employed. The salient feauture of this coverter is, rapid response and efficient. Moreover, the MPC algorithm used here is more flexible,so it provides additional support to the converter in improving the efficiency. The complete system is simulated and tested using MATLAB.
