Applied programming for energy loss of liquid flow through different metallic pipes

  • Mustafa Ahmed Oraibi

Abstract

Many types of liquids like treated water and oil are conveyed using circular pipes. This operation includes decreasing in liquid pressure. The main types of liquid flow are laminar flow and turbulent flow. Reynolds number is a parameter used to determine the type of flow. There are number of empirical equations used to represent head loss and friction factor. In this research, a program was designed using Visual Basic to determine Reynolds number, friction factor and head loss as a fast method compared with manualmethod. This program was suitable with good results.
