Abstract

This research work investigates how industrial wastes i.e sintered fly ash lightweight aggregate and Copper slag can be replaced with different proportions as coarse aggregate and fine aggregate respectively to develop lightweight concrete. Here in experimental work, at first ordinary coarse aggregate is substituted with sintered fly ash lightweight aggregate with 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% and for each proportion fine aggregate is substituted with Copper slag with the amount of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%. Thus totally of 25 mixes are cast with the help of M25 grade concrete. Totally 600 concrete specimens are made to test for compression, split tensile, flexural, In-plane shear strength through a mode-II fracture and impact strengths at the age of 28 days. The main intention of this project is to compare the strength of concrete with conventional concrete of M25 grade. The consequences of the examination reported herein, have shown that the mix of sintered fly ash lightweight aggregate with copper slag, has improved the strength at the age of 28 days.
