AWARENESS AND USE OF INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES BY LIBRARIANS: A STUDY ON KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA IN INDIA.

Abstract

The study investigated the Awareness and use of Information & Communication Technologies by Librarians: A Study on Kendriya Vidyalaya in India. The objective of present study are a) to study the level of ICT tools and services among the librarian of Kendriya Vidyalaya in India, b) to find out the awareness of male and female towards ICT tools and services among the librarians of Kendriya Vidyalaya in India and c) to find out the association between male and female librarians towards ICT tools and services among the librarians of Kendriya Vidyalaya in India. This study found that male professionals have provided more responses in awareness of ICT tools and use of e- resources than the female librarians. There is no significant association between male and female librarians in the awareness of Printer, Barcode scanner, LCD Multimedia, Web Designing, Internet except projector. It found that there is no significant association between male and female librarians regarding use of library website, OPAC, online journals, E-Books.
