Abstract
Safety, security and privacy became the major challenges for the establishment and maintenance of smart cities in Saudi Arabia. The research study reveals the future online securities challenges for smart cities in Saudi Arabia. The concept of smart cities starts with adequacy of facilities, transparency and sharing of necessary information through online portal for the free access. But the facilitates are misused by unethical practices. The personal information, financial transactions, business transactions, and government secrete information are threatened by the illegal access and unethical practices. The main motive of the present research work was to identify online security challenges in terms of safety, security, privacy and create awareness to the society for safeguarding their personal and business possessions. Online security and privacy are not only important for general public, but also vital for local administrators in smart cities. The research study discloses the probable challenges for the administrators of various smart cities in Saudi Arabia and efficient suggestions for the indispensable precautions.
