Abstract

The world seeks to improve the efficiency of the solar system to generate electricity by using maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms. In this paper, an adaptive Perturbation and Observation (PO) algorithm with dynamic step-size is proposed. The traditional Perturbation and Observation (TPO) with a fixed-step is commonly used for its simplicity and accurately. But, TPO Unable to track maximum power accurately under rapid changing climate conditions. So , Many of the amendments appeared on the TPO method to improve performance under different climate conditions. The proposed method depends on the dynamic step-size (DS), where DS builds on the slope of P_V relationship. There is analysis and comparison the traditional fixed-step PO method with the proposed dynamic-step PO method. The results assure the efficient operation of the proposed technique. The simulation results that the proposed technique reduces the steady state power fluctuation of the PV generation system significantly compared to traditional PO techniques.
