Abstract

Researchers have been encouraged by technological advancements to design novel materials that meet the necessary requirements. Metal matrix composites (MMCs) come close to meeting the criteria. These materials are used to create a variety of components in a variety of technical applications. However, using traditional processes to machine these materials remains a barrier for the industrial community. To mill these materials, unconventional machining procedures are a possible choice.

The processing of copper-based MMC was carried out in this study utilising a CNC wire cut electric discharge machine. As input control parameters, peak current, pulse-on time, pulse-off time, and wire feed rate were chosen. Cutting rate has been chosen as a response option. Artificial intelligence techniques were used for modelling and optimization.
