Abstract

Theories of management are the basic background for the study of management. The objective of this paper is to bring to light the application of human relations and behavioral science approaches to motivation in business organizations and lay a foundation for the understanding of these approaches to management. It also looked on the link between employee motivation and performance in the organization's goals. The report drew on both primary and secondary data sources, including researcher-created surveys as well as books, journals, and periodicals on management. The paper discovered the use of incentive and bonus schemes in modern organisations and thus recommends that, despite many advancements made since the discovery of human relations/behavioral approaches, which led to the emergence of other theories, the concept is still relevant and fashionable, and that managers should embrace the idea of looking at the human/behavioral side of employees rather than focusing on the mechanical aspects of the job alone. Managers might utilise psychology and sociology to understand their employees' behaviour and try to inspire increased production with the use of various incentive tactics, despite the complicated nature of human people.
